translucent red acrylic tulips form a glowing participatory light and sound installation

The Crimson Procession lights up within Vast Gallery in Tehran

The Crimson Procession is an immersive light and sound installation created by Reza Raeisifar and presented at Vast Gallery in Tehran in November 2025. Inspired by the red tulip as a symbol associated with remembrance, sacrifice, and hope, the project explores how light can transform space into a collective experience of reflection and movement. The installation consists of a series of freestanding tulip-inspired light structures arranged throughout the gallery, encouraging visitors to walk among them and experience the work from multiple perspectives. As audiences move through the space, shifting views, reflections, and sound create a continuously changing environment where participation becomes an essential part of the artwork. Each light element is constructed from translucent red acrylic petals mounted on a steel structure and illuminated from within.

Iranian artist Reza Raeisifar proposes a space for contemplation

The modular system was designed for assembly, transportation, and adaptation to different exhibition contexts. The project combines principles of lighting design, sculpture, and spatial installation, creating an environment that exists between object, architecture, and performance. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, The Crimson Procession invites personal interpretation. The glowing red forms function simultaneously as memorial symbols and sources of light, suggesting both loss and renewal. Through the interaction of light, sound, and movement, the installation, designed by Iranian designer and artist Reza Raeisifar, proposes a space for contemplation while offering an optimistic vision of collective resilience and the possibility of new beginnings.
