Epazo Toi Buying Guide | How much do you know about LED lights?
LED lighting is a lighting system that uses LEDs (light emitting diodes) as a light source. Compared to traditional lighting systems such as incandescent and fluorescent lamps, LED lighting offers higher energy efficiency, longer lifespan, lower maintenance costs and better environmental friendliness. Energy efficiency is one of the most important advantages of LED lights, but low maintenance costs are another major advantage. LEDs have a very long lifespan, up to 10 years or more, because they do not burn out filaments.
In addition, LED lighting provides a softer and more uniform light, making it increasingly popular for both indoor and outdoor lighting applications.
LED lighting is available in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and temperatures for use throughout the home.
Common types of led bulbs:
Standard LED light bulbs: Standard LED bulbs disperse light at a wide angle throughout a room. They’re ideal for reading lamps, hallways and other common fixtures such as semi-flush and flush-mount fixtures. Can LED light bulbs: Also known as recessed lights, can light LED bulbs fit into sockets – or cans – mounted in the ceiling.Flood LED light bulbs: Flood bulbs are designed to emit a strong but wide beam of light to illuminate a broad area. They’re mainly used in exterior applications.Track LED light bulbs: Track lights are often used for directional lighting, work area task lighting or to highlight something specific such as artwork and other decorative features.Tube LED light bulbs: Tube lights, also known as linear light bulbs, have a functional style designed for more professional applications like office buildings, kitchens and workspaces.
LED Decorative bulbs
Candelabra LED light bulbs: Candelabra bulbs, also known as candle bulbs, emulate the shape of a candle flame. They work best in chandeliers, accent lighting, wall sconces, and decorative fixtures.Globe LED light bulbs: Globe bulbs emit light in every direction, making them ideal for bathroom vanities and pendant lights.Vintage/Edison LED light bulbs: Edison bulbs, or vintage bulbs, are all about aesthetics. The newest designs have thinner, longer filaments that offer a “true vintage look” without compromising on light output. These are best suited for decorative fixtures like pendant lights and industrial chandeliers.
What occasions are bulbs with different color temperatures suitable for?
Warm White (2700K-3000K): bulbs of this color temperature are usually used for home lighting, such as living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. Warm white light can create a warm and cozy atmosphere.
Natural White (4000K-4500K): Light bulbs of this color temperature are used in offices, commercial premises and medical institutions where clear and bright lighting is required. Natural white light can improve work efficiency and concentration.
Pure white (5000K-5500K): This color temperature bulb is suitable for applications that require high brightness lighting, such as factories, workshops and parking lots. Pure white light can provide bright and clear lighting effect.
Cool White (6000K-6500K): This color temperature bulb is suitable for applications requiring high brightness and high contrast, such as operating rooms, laboratories and movie theaters. Cool white light can provide high brightness and high contrast lighting effect.
Brightness of LED Lights
The brightness of an LED light is usually measured in lumens (Lumen). The brightness of an LED light depends on its power and efficiency. In general, the brighter the LED light, the brighter the light emitted.
The brightness of LED lights can be compared based on their lumen value. For example, a typical 60-watt incandescent bulb typically produces about 800 lumens, while an LED bulb of the same brightness may only require about 8-12 watts of power.
